Z.ai, the lab behind the coding agent I use all day, shipped GLM 5.3 last Thursday. My feed barely mentioned it.

Everything else got airtime. Grok 4.6 got plenty. The loudest thing these past two days was Grok Bot, xAI's always-on agents bundled at $300 a month. DeepSeek's new V4 models got talked about too, mostly for the price: up to 14× more than before.

Almost none of the buzz was about the models getting better.

Meanwhile I'm using AI more than ever. This week an agent rebuilt an abandoned project for me in under an hour, usable on the first try. It's genuinely good at my day-to-day work now, and the hours I used to spend keeping up with AI news go to working with it.

Releases used to be news because each one changed what I could do. Now they're all good, so none of them changes my week. Price is the only thing that still changes it. I skim the benchmarks now. I read the pricing posts.
